Otherwise, the matching of flow and the head of the centrifugal pump with the hrdrocyclone( desilter, desander, jet mud mixer device) must be appropriate. If not, the hydrocyclone can’t normal work.
If centrifugal pump is feeding pump for hydrocyclone separator the drilling mud will flow into cones under pressure and get a screw to separate larger particles out. If the pump is only transferring pump or for mixing system the pressure will ensure the sufficient motivity and flow rate.
An oilfield solids control system needs many centrifugal pumps to sit on or in mud tanks. The types of centrifugal pumps used are sand pumps, submersible slurry pumps, shear pumps, and charging pumps. They are defined for their different functions, but their working principle is the same.

Jet Mud mixer is a special equipment for solids control
Solids control is a technique used in drilling rig to separate the solids in the drilling fluids that are crushed by the drill bits and carried out of the well surface. Normally solids control system is consist of five stages, including mud tank, shale shaker, vacuum degasser, desander, desilter, centrifuge. Shale shaker is used to separate the big solids with diameter above 75μm, and 45~74μm for desander, and 15~44μm for desilter. Sometimes desander & desilter are combined as high efficient mud cleaner. When air enters into the drilling fluids, vacuum degasser is used to separate the air. If no air in the mud, the degasser would work as a big agitator. All these equipments are mounted on the top of the mud tank. After separating the solids, the clean mud would be pumped into the borehole again.
Jet Mud Mixer is a special equipment to prepare and increase the drilling fluids weight by adding and mixing bentonite, change the fluid density, change the mud density, viscosity, and dehydration. The effect is more prominent matching with Shear Pump. KOSUN jet mud mixer is a unit used together with the solids control system for petroleum drilling and horizontal directional drilling(HDD). The drilling fluid decanter centrifuge is driven by two motors for drilling mud system
KOSUN drilling fluid decanter centrifuge is driven by two motors. The main motor drives the drum and reducer case rotate by the belts. The vice motor drives the spiral through the reducer. The drum and spiral rotate together for the same direction, and produce some difference of speed. Separate the solid phases in the drilling mud by the centrifugal sedimentation principle. The drilling mud flows into the drum from the fluid hole through the inlet pipe and under the force of screw pusher, under the effect of centrifugal force, the solid phases will be pushed onto the inside wall of the drum, pass the impeller on the screw pusher and be discharged from the exhaust hole at the small side of the drum. The liquid phase will flow out from the big side. The drilling fluid re-circles like above to achieve the target of continuous separation.
